Sunday funday.

Braun is a beast..
Accomplishments:
2010 - NFL Pick'em regular season & playoff champion
2011 - BC Dynasty Baseball league regular season champion

Words of Wisdom:
(1) You can only speak in absolutes if your name begins with "Fan." (2)Strikeouts are not of any importance for hitters; however, high K's for a pitcher are.

This team is just horrible right now. Lucroy alone coming back is not going to magically turn them into a good team, Izturis coming back probably makes them worse.

Only way we make the playoffs is if Weeks magically starts hitting .300

They don't look great right now, but they are only 4.5 back in the division now. Really the NL Central is up for grabs, no one looks that great.

I agree about Izturis, I hope they don't just plug him back in the everyday lineup when he returns. I wish Taylor Green could play short.

Getting Lucroy back alone won't save them, but you get Estrada back too and when you combine with things like Ramirez, Wolf, and Weeks starting to play better, that would definitely give them a chance.

I know it sounds like a broken record on Weeks, but I just can't believe that somehow he just forgot how to play baseball overnight. I don't think he does this all season, but at this point, I don't really know. Last year, Adam Dunn who had been a very good baseball player throughout his career and never OPS'ed below .819, somehow put together one of the worst seasons for a starter you'll ever see and a .569 OPS.

Now this year, Dunn is back to being the offensive beast he's been his entire career. Somehow he had a slump that lasted an entire season. It's almost impossible to explain. Maybe that's what is happening with Weeks, I don't know.

This is some twilight zone shit here. Macha being the pessimist, adam being the optimist? Whats going on around here?!?!?!?!?!!?!?

All kidding aside, thats just it, we are only 4.5 games out, with our pitching VASTLY under performing. That gets back to close to normal, and we get healthy, anything is possible. 2006 Cardinals, 2010 Giants, 2011 Cardinals....... Just recently it goes to show, just get in...

Being 4.5 games out the way we've played is lucky as hell. Sure helps nobody else is playing well either. I agree with the Izturis statement, I'd rather have a Taylor Green get a shot against all RHP and then platoon Ransom versus LHP. At least then you have a chance for a guy to hit .260-.280 with a little pop compared to what I would predict a .200-.220 at best hitter with no pop.

Aoki has really impressed me, with Hart at 1B we have covered up a weak spot in the batting order. Who knows maybe a 5 out of 6 road trip and were within a couple games of 1st. I still don't sell the farm club out to make try and make a run.

Are you suggesting Green play SS versus all RHP? That's never gonna happen, and not a good idea either really. He hasn't played a single inning at SS at any level of professional baseball.

I feel that Ransom should see the majority of the starts at SS, even after Izturis returns. Then Green rotate between 3rd, 2nd, and 1st giving them days off, and giving him a chance to see legit playing time.

Agree on both counts. Between the three positions, Green should be getting at least 4 starts a week. Any less than that, and I'd prefer he get sent down to AAA and get consistent ABs.
