These guys are dirty. They have a new identity from being the bitches of the NFL to being the bad boys. It all starts with that douchebag of a head coach, Gym Shorts.

Ndamukong Suh on Tuesday defended his quarterback's actions and his team's style of play two days after a loss to the Chicago Bears in a physical game that featured a fight in the fourth quarter. Things got out of hand early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game after Matthew Stafford threw his third interception of the game. The Bears' Tim Jennings picked him off and got shoved hard out of bounds by Nate Burleson. While that unfolded, Stafford grabbed D.J. Moore by the helmet and threw him to the ground, setting off a confrontation involving players from both teams that ultimately led to Moore's ejection. Moore immediately hopped up and plowed Stafford -- then sitting on the ground -- back into the turf, sparking the skirmish and the corner's ejection. Suh said the altercation between the teams occurred because Moore went after Stafford and that the Lions quarterback "had to protect himself." "That's a no-no on our team," he said on ESPN's "SportsCenter" on Tuesday morning. "You don't go after our quarterback."Moore said Monday on the "The Carmen, Jurko & Harry Show" on ESPN 1000 in Chicago that he expects to be fined. Lions coach Jim Schwartz on Sunday said he didn't expect Stafford to be disciplined by the NFL, which confirmed Monday it was reviewing incidents in the game. "Discipline for what? For their guy getting kicked out of the game?" Schwartz said, adding that Moore was the only player flagged in the melee.Stafford said Sunday he wasn't trying to injure Moore.
"He kind of blocked me and I was just trying to get him off me best I knew how," Stafford said. "And I guess he didn't like the way I did it. He wanted to ask me about it."Suh on Tuesday also was asked about a play in the second quarter of the game where he tackled the Bears' Jay Cutler and ripped the quarterback's helmet off. He called Cutler's helmet coming off "part of the game."He said he's not sure what commissioner Roger Goodell's reaction to the play will be. Suh met with Goodell last month to try to better understand what the league is looking for regarding legal hits and player safety. "I'm not really sure what the commissioner is going to say," he said Tuesday. "I'm not his right-hand man. I think he's a very fair and honest person and hopefully he continues to be that way, and we'll see what happens." Suh said on "ESPN First Take" that "a lot of good things came from that meeting" with Goodell, but that he was keeping the particulars of the discussion "in house." Suh, responding to claims that the Lions are dirty, defended the way he and his team plays.
"I like to punish the quarterback. I like to punish running backs for them trying to make plays on my defense," he said in his "First Take" interview. "Whether it's dirty or aggressive or whatever that may be, we're going to continue to play that way and make sure we stand up and make sure teams don't run over us."http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/ ... ears-fight

I hope Gym Shorts gets the same treatment that Sean Payton did. He actually deserve it. I also hope someone takes care of Suh.

Its getting to the point where i'm actually worried about playing these guys due to the sole fact that one of our players might suffer a severe injury becasue of these nut jobs. Im all for playing hard and imposing ones will, but there is a line and the Lions cross it regularly.
Dominic Raiola's chop block on Henry Melton in the 4th quarter was just filthy dirty. Pissed me off. Imagine how Melton felt.

I'm at a point where I'm starting to hate the Lions more than the Packers. I respect the hell out of the Packers more than I do the Lions. At least they don't play dirty.

Right. I'm all for playing hard as well until the whistle stops, but hard play needs to stop at the whistle. Push and shove, trash talk, get in a guys face after the whistle, I don't really care. But both of Suh's hits on Delhomme were clearly after the play and he was trying to rip the guys head off. Can't help but wonder if it was a Steeler like Harrison if the punishment wouldn't have been more severe. Yeah hits to the head are dangerous, but they're also a lot harder to avoid as a player than the shit he does. Not to mention, weren't those hits on Delhomme during preseason? A time when most starters are out there just to get back into game shape and avoid injury, with a sort of unwritten rule that you don't hit as hard as regular season.

Agreed the other way around, and we haven't even seen the worst of Suh first-hand against the Pack. With guys like Urlacher, yeah he'll hit you hard and play all out until the whistle, but you know he won't take cheap shots like this.

Thats pretty much what I said in your thread on the Bears board. These guys want to be relevant so bad they resort to dirty play. The whole world outside of Detroit sees it.. As long as Shwartz is coaching, fines are not going to curtail it. It needs to be handled on the field. After you tear his knee to shreds you stand over him and tell him why he will be rehabbing for a year. See if he wants to keep it up when he comes back.

He needs a suspension in a bad way. Watching his interview after the game, he's in huge denial or is entirely delusional. He's ripe for a good chop block or something. I'd take the penalty just to put him in his place.

I call BS Ndamukong Suh apologizes for stompSource: ESPN.com DETROIT -- For the first season and a half of his young career, Ndamukong Suh could almost brush off talk about his penalties and fines, saying he would keep doing what was needed to help his Detroit Lions. After hurting the team with a penalty and ejection on Thanksgiving, Suh now says he has learned his lesson." My reaction on Thursday was unacceptable," the star defensive tackle said in a statement on his Facebook page Friday night. "I made a mistake, and have learned from it. I hope to direct the focus back to the task at hand -- by winning."The statement appeared on Suh's page around the same time he was publically chastised by the Lions, one night after being ejected Thursday in a loss to Green Bay for stomping at an opposing player. "The on-field conduct exhibited by Ndamukong Suh that led to his ejection from yesterday's game was unacceptable and failed to meet the high level of sportsmanship we expect from our players," the team said. "Ndamukong has made many positive contributions to the Lions on and off the field. We expect his behavior going forward to consistently reflect that high standard of professionalism." It could be several days before Suh finds out the true cost of his third-quarter stomp in Detroit's 27-15 loss to the Packers on Thursday. An NFL spokesman said Friday that plays from Week 12 looked at for potential discipline won't be reviewed until all games are completed.Detroit coach Jim Schwartz was curt after Thursday's defeat when asked if he was worried about a possible suspension.
"I'm worried about losing this game," Schwartz said.Suh was dismissed after tangling with Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith. After being pushed off Dietrich-Smith, Suh stepped down hard with his right foot, appearing to make contact with Dietrich-Smith's right arm. Immediately after the game, Suh defended himself, saying he was trying to keep his balance while freeing himself from the brief scuffle. He publically apologized to teammates, coaches and fans Thursday for "allowing the refs to have an opportunity to take me out of this game," but he insisted he didn't intentionally step on anyone." People are going to have their own opinions -- that's fine," he said after the game. "The only (people) that I really care about are my teammates, my true fans and my coaches and their opinions, and that's where it lies. And honestly, the most important person in this whole thing that I have to deal with is the man upstairs."In his Friday statement on Facebook, he said he'd had more time to reflect. "Playing professional sports is not a game," he said. "It is a profession with great responsibility, and where performance on and off the field should never be compromised. It requires a calm and determined demeanor, which cannot be derailed by the game, referee calls, fans or other players." In less than two seasons as a pro, Suh has established himself as one of the game's strongest and most athletic defensive linemen, but he's also received his share of fines. Suh requested and received a meeting earlier this month with commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss his play. He said that dialogue was helpful, but now the league will have to decide whether more discipline is merited after he was ejected on national television. New York Jets coach Rex Ryan came up with one tongue-in-cheek solution Friday. "I'll be honest with you, I think the young man, he should be released ... and come to the Jets," Ryan joked. "I'm just throwing that out there. I don't think he's that good of a player. I don't know about the incident and all that jazz, but we'll take him. We'll sacrifice that way." Ryan then turned a little more serious. "I don't even know what to say on it," Ryan said. "You've seen things like that happen on the field before. It's an emotional game." Jets offensive lineman Matt Slauson, who played with Suh at Nebraska, sounded off on the topic Friday. "Somebody needs to get him under control, because he's trying to hurt people," Slauson told the New York Post. "It's one thing to be an incredibly physical player and a tenacious player, but it's another thing to set out to end that guy's career." Slauson said last year that he and Suh used to mix it up in practice while in college. "There were times we got into fights, during spring ball, during camp, but I kind of fought everyone," Slauson said then. In 2006, Albert Haynesworth, then with the Tennessee Titans, was suspended five games after swiping his cleats across the head of helmetless Dallas center Andre Gurode. Suh's stomp wasn't toward Dietrich-Smith's head, and the Green Bay player didn't seem too much worse for wear. When asked afterward where Suh stepped on him, Dietrich-Smith sounded like he didn't want to stir the pot. "I have no idea," he said. "I have to watch the tape." If Suh is suspended early next week, he would have a chance to keep playing pending any appeal -- but that appeals process can be expedited. Detroit plays at New Orleans on Dec. 4.
The NFL moved the game to prime time, a reflection of the buzz surrounding the improved Lions this season. Led by young stars Suh, Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, Detroit won its first five games, but the Lions have since lost four of six.Mike Pereria, the former vice president of officiating for the NFL who now works for Fox as a rules analyst, said Thursday he expects Suh to be suspended multiple games.
"Stomping on a guy is way over the line. He's not a dirty player, he's a filthy player," Pereria said on Twitter.Defensive backs Louis Delmas, Chris Houston and Brandon McDonald went down with injuries against the Packers, and so did running back Kevin Smith. If the Lions are without Suh for an extended period, it could hurt them in the playoff race. "He plays aggressive. All of us, sometimes, might overreact in certain situations," Detroit defensive lineman Cliff Avril said. "We've got to play real smart." http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/ ... -situation

Looks like he'll be getting at least a 2 game suspension. That could cost his team a trip to the playoffs.
