Obviously nothing is set until contracts are signed, but who would have thought something like this could happen? Reyes, Pujols, and Buerhle? Damn

I'd be willing to bet they don't get any of those three in Miami. If any of them, maybe Buerhle.

Cards apparently made their final offer to Pujols at 9 years and $210 million. I hope he feels this is a disrespectful offer and gets the fuck out of town.

Seriously, anybody who wants Pujols for 9 years at more than $21 million a year can have him. He's a lot more beat up than any of us realize. Personally, I think Fielder is the better singing.

I think most people that follow baseballl know how beat up Pujols is. I think his steroid use may also catch up to him in the long run.

However, he's one of the all-time great players in the history of the game, and is still likely to earn that money. He had a "nightmare" of a season this year by his standards and look at where he ended up? Over .300/37/99. While missing a chunk of the season.

As a Brewers fan, I'd gladly sign him to that deal. He'll almost certainly be worth more than 21 million the next 4-5 years and after that, he'll probably start to drop off.

But throw all of his injuries, his elblow which there was talk that it could blow out at any time two years ago is healed, he plays the least demanding position, and he's the type of hitter who's going to age exceptionally well.

His down years may end up being .285/.420 with a .950 OPS, but he'll still likely be a very good defender at 1st, and he's an icon. Any team signing him is going to make a fuck load of money simply on merchandising.

Anyone think that Miami's uniforms look like that fictitious minor league team that Gordon Bombay played for while trying to get to the NHL? Compare the two:

Random. All they have in common is an M, which don't even look alike.

I know, I couldn't figure out any real similarity.

Marlins signed Heath Bell. Can't wait until they sign Fielder, Pujols, Reyes and Buerhle as well.
