Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
Gamel's projections remind me of the Lyle Overbay era at 1st, which, if he ends up giving us good defense, isn't the worst thing in the world. None of our offensive projections get me too excited though, it looks like mostly a mix of some good hitters (Hart, Weeks, Ramirez) with some average at best ones (Lucroy, Gamel). They project Plush to really fall off. Pitching looks like it will be very good though, so hopefully the defense will improve enough coupled with the pitching where an average offense will be enough to get us back to the playoffs.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
I think this sums it up perfect. The black hole that was Yuni and Casey last year is gone. Better defense, and the numbers projected for A-Ram (Still gonna be strange rooting for him, as I HATED him as a Cub) and Gonzalez are better, with better defense. Plus Gamel will be a much better defensive 1st baseman. Offensively, there may be a collective drop off, but not that much, but defensively, I think you see a BIG improvement.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers ProjectionsThe Brewers are going to win 100 games and be better than last season. That's my Milwaukee Brewers projection for 2012.

Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
Doubt it. I think they'll be a better team, but I'm not going to measure that in a few wins here and there. I see them being a 93-95 win team next year, but one that has a much better chance to win it all. Soooo many question marks. 1-Does Braun get his suspension over turned? 2-Does Gamel become the .285/365 22 HR player I THINK he will be? 3-Does Aram fall off to 09 or go back to 2010? 4-Does Greinke and Gallardo continue their run at the end of last year. 5-Can Ax and K-Rod be the best 1-2 combo as they were from the time we got them last year? 6-Do we get any surprises? Aoki being a stud? Parra being a Balfour type pitcher>? Manzanillo in the pen? The bench ripping it up, Green, Maltonado, Izturis, etc..etc... 7-Can our defense be in the pper echelon? I don't know about the day to day, but I do still think our playoffs odds are as good if not better if healthy with our current roster. Oh, and Aoki helps our bench a ton. Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
There's always going to be big question marks for most teams heading into the season. Some made up and some legit. I think the Brewers will win 100 games, not just because they are a better team, but because I believe they will win a lot of close games because they will have K-Rod and Axford in the 8th/9th innings. I suspect that the Brewers offense will be the same or better depending on Gamel. I'm not worried about the pitching (Marcum or Greinke) at all. The Brewers seem to have more quality pitching depth this year than last. I think that if Braun is suspended, when he returns, he will put the Brewers already potent offense over the top. I believe Weeks will have a big year. New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.

Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers ProjectionsDefensively and pitching wise, I think we will be a lot better. A 100 win team. ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Stretch, Ill go with 93 wins. Fight for the division with the Tardinals
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers ProjectionsI think we are underestimating the loss of Prince a little bit and potential impact of no Prince OR Braun in our lineup for 50 games.
The upgrades at SS and 3B will help, but ill still go with 91 wins and a 3 way race between the Cardinals and Reds for the division.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers ProjectionsI will never predict a team to win 100 games.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers ProjectionsBtw, this season I think we need to hold off all predictions until late spring training. Way too many question marks assuming Braun misses 50 games and we have no idea what we have in Akoi.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
Nonsense. The Brewers will win 100 games despite Braun missing time and Aoki. Plus, like I said above there will always be big question marks heading into the season, some legit and some made up. That's the risk of predicting prior to the start of the season. New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.

Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
I know that. Most posters wouldn't. Most posters like to play it safe, because it's very risky to say a team will win 100 games. Safe isn't always the correct way to go, btw. New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.

Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
You're entitled to make your predictions as unlikely as they are, but telling everyone else what "is" and what "isn't" the correct way to go as far as making predictions is pretty condescending.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
I never told anybody what is the correct way to go. I left it up in the air by saying that "safe isn't always the correct way to go." I didn't lean one way or the other. New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.

Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
You're a fucking idiot.
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
You said it was "nonsense," to wait and see if we'd have the reigning NL MVP for 50 games before making a prediction. "Without religion, we'd have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."
Re: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers Projections
My prediction is based on Ryan Braun being suspended for 50 games. New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.
