It's not even the headline of the article, but I found this interesting: http://packersnews.greenbaypressgazette ... on-winningWhitt said members of referee Scott Green’s officiating crew told Woodson before the game that they would be watching for his physical play, and that if he held, he would be penalized. There would be no gray area. The Packers believe that changed the way Woodson approached the game.
When the NFL sent an officiating crew to Green Bay to work a few training camp practices last month, Whitt asked some of those officials to watch the tape of those plays against Woodson from the Arizona game.
“They said it should have been called offensive pass interference on both plays,” Whitt said. “Well, that doesn’t do us any good because they scored two touchdowns on us. They said they saw that game at home, and there should have been flags thrown for offensive pass interference, and it happened twice. That’s 14 points, and we win the game. That’s very disappointing, and it won’t happen again.Bottom line is we lost the game, but I hope the officials are beginning to recognize that our guys in the secondary aren't the only ones that are physical and it's got to be called both ways. I guess the blown calls don't piss me off about it so much now, it's in the past, but what does piss me off is approaching Woodson before the game and threaten to call any physicality on him, effectively changing his game, but end up letting Fitz get away with everything.

Nothing on the blown missed face mask on the fumble/game-winning-TD though? Or did they already claim it was legal and sweep it under the rug?
That bothers me more than the other stuff. It ended the game, I.E. no chance to make up for it, where at least the other ones they had a chance to come back...and DID.

Haven't heard a word about that one, but there were a number of calls that could have turned the game the other way...just incompetent officiating that game.
There were plenty of mistakes by the players, but I feel bad for them working their asses off the entire season and having their season taken away not entirely on the field.

You are assuming the Cardinals dont come back and score anyways after the penalties. We werent stopping shit that day. So whats saying we stop them anyways? Or do they score the 14 eventually?
As for the OT, I was more upset over the missed late hit on Aaron that would have given us 15 yds and a first down, nice field position, and the offense moving at will. Rather, we had a long 3rd down

Nothing says they don't score anyway but it would have been nice to have found out. Biggest slap in the face on the Fitzgerald one was, after him bowling Woodson over for no call and getting the TD, they called a completely ridiculous roughing the passer penalty on Cullen Jenkins when there was none.

Yeah, I remember that, when Jenkins was pushed into Warner, and called for it.

Why not bring up some blown calls from Super Bowl 32 while we're at it?
IMO, who cares. Move on. Every game has blown calls.

::Face palm:: No, nobody's ASSUMING anything, we're simply going on what happened. We HAD stopped the Cards a couple times by the way. What I DO know is that having a "and goal" 15 yards further back WOULD-HAVE-HELPED. We can obviously always play the "you never know" game that you like to play, but the fact is that MAYBE them scoring 14 points is better than them DEFINITELY scoring 14 points. Simple as that.
