Could Jenkins be back with the Packers next year?

This is all speculation at this point, but if this were to happen I would be thrilled. Imagine if Collins were also to return and we could get everybody back from the 5th ranked defense we had in 2010 and very likely even improve through the draft if we do find a pass rushing OLB to also bring in early in the draft.

Now if only we could get 2010 Woodson back too!

The article made it sound like Jenkins would clearly love to come back to GB, not so sure that would be correct. Most pro athletes have huge egos, not sure about Jenkins, but could easily see him being upset that the Packers really didn't try too hard to bring him back.

A pass rush would go a long way toward that.. He needs the ball to be coming out quick for his gambles to pay off.
Accomplishments:
2010 - NFL Pick'em regular season & playoff champion
2011 - BC Dynasty Baseball league regular season champion

Words of Wisdom:

Haha, this is comical. This is borderline irresponsible journalism. Why would Ted bring him back now, when he's a year older, if he didn't bring him back last year? What about Ted Thompson leads you to believe he would do that?

Because he now saw how much we missed him. Him and Collins were the only differences, getting one back is out of his control. And TT has no ego from what I've seen, wouldn't have a big problem bringing him back if he thought it was the best move for the team.

It's not about ego. He doesn't sign old people. Especially not at the price Jenkins demanded. Even though we all agree he went for cheap on the open market, $25 million for a 30 year old is about $25 million more than Ted is willing to spend on a 30 year old free agent with an injury history.

And please don't throw the Ahman Green signing in my face to prove Ted does sign old people.

He signed Woodson when he was starting to get around that age and re-signed both Woodson and Driver to new deals in their mid-30's. Chad Clifton was almost 34 when TT re-signed him for 3 years and he also brought in Tauscher in 2009 to fix the O-line.

I don't think the fact that Jenkins is 30 going on 31 would be a big factor at all in Ted's thinking.

Because he might not require a 5 year deal?
Because we obviously missed him a lot?
Because we're coming off a 15-1 season and obviously a super bowl contender?

I don't know, took about .3 seconds for those three options to pop up.

And how about Chad Clifton. If he could have Jenkins for 2 years and 12 million, that'd be a good deal.

I will say Jenkins didn't look as good IMO this year. Stats aside, when I watched him, he looked slower and bigger. Still better than what we have.
