GT 7/7/11: Leaving the broom at home!

Postby sedgy145 on Jul 7th, 2011, 9:18 am

As nice as it would be to keep working towards the #1 draft pick, I don't want to be swept by Washington!!

Pretty good pitching matchup tonight gives me incentive to watch the whole thing.

But for the love of God, can we not get swept in 4 games by the Nationals?

Nats should sweep the series here.

Let me guess:

Cubs fall behind 4-0 after 2 innings
Ramirez hits a 3 run HR to make it 4-3
Pena ties it with a solo shot at 4 all
Washington takes the lead on a sac fly
Ramirez hits his 2nd HR to tie it at 5
Nationals win on a walk-off balk

Might as well lose in another different way, plus its happened twice this year already :|

Hopefully we can give Garza some run support this time.

Other than flipping Sori and Byrd, that's the line up I've been clamoring for all year.

Down 6-0 and not even an out in the 3rd inning. There goes my perfect GT record on the season.

I'm about to start watching the Yankees on MLB Network instead, Jeter is getting close to 3,000 hits.

I'm actually watching Nancy Grace right now, that's how bad this game is.

Sorry, I just can't celebrate that achievement. The media has caused me to dislike him quite a lot. So sick of him being shoved down my throat whenever I flip over to ESPN. He was a great hitter, but regardless of what ESPN wants to say he was not a great defensively player and he completely screwed the Yankees over by forcing them into his current contract. Amongst other things.

That's just the unfortunate nature of our sports media today. Because of ESPN, they can beat stories to death, and even cause us to sometimes dislike what could be an otherwise likeable player. I actually like Derek Jeter. I don't think he's perfect, but I'm glad for him to get to 3k hits.

This thing's getting interesting in the 6th inning. 8-3 now, with 2 in scoring position. 2 outs though.
