Gosh, the post RD just made about needing a minor league writer sounds amazing. I would absolutely love to do that....
....the funny thing is I was waiting to post the following, BUT....
....today, I have been offered a new position at a prestigious consulting firm!! I will be taking my talents to consulting!! I will be going from a tax compliance driven position to consulting on tax technology solutions and ERP systems. This new job is going to require 100% travel and I wanted to let everyone know that my presence on the BrewersCubs.com message board might be greatly reduced.
An absolutely amazing opportunity that I would not ever pass up. I am still more than a month away from this transition, but first acknowledgment was made today and I'm so excited I had to share the news with you guys! The good thing is I will be traveling Monday-Thursday and be able to work from home on Fridays, which means I certainly might frequent Wrigley Field on Fridays. I'm going to do my best keeping up with the board, but I'm going to have to pass on the Bleacher Nation Minor League Writer position.
Already being set up, but happy hour in a couple weeks to celebrate this news!! If you're downtown, you're welcome to join!

Sedgy....
Awesome to hear that, brother. You just proved that not all Cubs fans sit in their moms basement on their computers.
(Moooooooooom! Is dinner ready YET!?)
Seriously, congrats, buddy....

Oh my guys lol. I did just receive my verbal salary offer. 26.3% increase.....but I'm going to counter with $4k more. Getting greedy? Nope, just getting what I'm worth! I should also ask for a Cubs skybox. Fringe benefits!! Thanks, by the way guys, for all the congrats! Huge professional move and one that will open many more doors and help me achieve more of what I want to do in life. In the end, though, you'll all be with me and I will try my hardest to still have a presence on this board.

I feel like an athlete right now.
I am at my first job out of college and I was interning here the summer before graduating, so I kind of just switched from "intern" to "full-time." I had been given a verbal offer, but I finally got my written contract offer this morning. I feel like an athlete going through negotiation and asking for more money and them coming back with additional salary and benefits. I'm glad I don't have an agent and have to pay a percentage!!
This job will now also allow me to see stadiums! I won't be traveling somewhere new each week, but I will be somewhere and will allow me to travel to places not as easy as it is from Chicago.
