New Bears owner/orginization. RANT

Postby moolamaka on Aug 30th, 2010, 3:24 pm

I may be the only one, but watching the Bears this last Saturday got me pissed off at the Bears organization as a whole.

I want to see new faces in every spot next year. The McCaskey family runs the Bears like a Ma and Pa team. They dont hire people who have had success in years past. They get these new guys who have nothing on their record. I know this may sound crazy but hear me out. In a fantasy world I want Oprah to own the Bears. She would love to being from Chicago plus she makes about 375million dollars a year. With Oprah as the owner I would want Ditka to be the co-owner or president. He can get all the guys needed to get the job done. We wouldnt have coaches like Lovie Smith who are laid back and who have set an attitude in the locker room feeling "Its okay to fail" Seriously he doesnt even get in anyone's face. The team doesnt seem to be pumped for games, very lackadaisical. If you have noticed Tommie Harris these recent years how he hasnt "tried" hard enough on every play. Well I tell yeah if Ditka were on those sidelines he would be in Tommie's face screaming and hollering. Now I know Ditka wont be our head coach but if he is in management, I guarantee you he has people in mind. IE Bill Cowher. Every since we got Cutler, Lovie Smith and company have installed a pass first offense, from what I know that is not how Chicago Bears football is played. We set up a dominant run for the pass. With a run first offence, oline will get in the habit of attacking instead of laying back and protecting the play after play. As a fan I want to see a head coach who has been there and done that in his NFL career, who also shows some emotion and care into his job. Thats the way Chicago Bears football is played. Another thing about Lovie, he is married the his "Tampa 2 Defense" NO OTHER NFL TEAM RUNS THIS DEFENSE AS THEIR PRIMARY SCHEME! maybe if it worked then I would be okay with this but it doesnt, all it does is leave a 5-10 yard gap in our coverage were qb's will pick apart our defense every Sunday. Oh and one more thing. Remember the 06 defense how it was unstoppable? Remember the coordinator? Ron Rivera. Ron Rivera went into each game with multiple schemes and gameplays so if one worked, he would try the next. But of course since Rivera wasnt running the "tampa2" every play, Lovie had to fire him. I mean WTF?!?!?!? THATS WHAT YOUR SUPPOSED TO DO FUCKING LOVIE SMITH! no smart coach will go with one plan and stick with it for the entire game. especially if it doesnt work! DUMB ASS! God's sake I could be payed millions to stand on the sideline with no body language, no multiple gameplans, NO HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS! I think we all saw during the Super Bowl how Manning was ripping apart our D in the first half and we come out the second half doing the same Damn thing!!!! You know when Urlacher lifts his arm in the air with his palm towards the sky? yea that means audible to standard cover 2 formation. And when he pats his helmet. That means run! If I can notice these things, ya think every other team will notice them to! Spygate or not the other team knows what play you are running! GOOD GRIEF!

New GM: Jerry Angelo needs to be fired after this year. The way it looks Cutler will throw 20+ ints again this year. Making the trade for Orton one of the worst trades in Bears history. Adding on the Angelo's fails... look at his draft history. Lance Louis is a 7th round pick and he is going to be a starter for our oline! Another thing, why cant the Bears draft high draft picks from big top notch schools? Enough of getting people from Vanderbilt. In 2009 the Bears first pick Jarron Gilbert (keep in mind it was a 3rd rounder) was from San Jose State. Jerry is the worst with 1st round picks! in 2003 the Bears had 2 1st round draft picks and drafted Micheal Haynes 14th overall who isnt in the NFL anymore! With the 2nd 1st round pick of that draft Jerry Angelo drafted Rex Grossman who is the backup now for the Redskins. Al Afalava was a 6th round pick and hes a starter. The list goes on and on.

Chicago Stadium: Are the Bears the only team in the league who doesnt own the stadium they plan in? The city of Chicago owns Solder Field. Thats why we always see people slip on our field because the city doesnt want for fork out the money for a new field. If the Bears did own their stadium we could see more money headed our way. Thats how teams make their money by selling tickets and merchandise at the stadium.

Bottom Line: NEW MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP FOR THE CHICAGO BEARS IS A MUST!

I've felt this EXACT same way! Word for word of what you just said. Except for the Oprah and Ditka part. However, i wouldn't mind that. I love Soldier Field. I think the Bears need to get ownership of it any way possible.

Good to know that i wasn't the only one that feels this way too! I say bring in Bill Cowher and him have the GM/HC coach role. We can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Haha, my dad and I had this rant last night, except it was after a couple of beers and a day by the pool.

Again, took the words right out of my mouth. But he wasn't fired, Lovie just didn't want to bring him back due to their differences. So the Bears didn't renew the contract of Rivera. Chicago radio still bring this up occasionally.

Lovie had/still has too much power as HC apparently. And the media is bitching about it.

George Halas = AWESOME

His daughter, son-in-law and their kids = ALL DUMBASSES!

Virginia and Ed McCaskey have ELEVEN kids and MANY grandchildren. This fucking family is going to own this franchise forever!

They wont sell it. I think they'll move the bears out of chicago before they sell the organization.

Well, taking away the fact that you can't spell "offense"....and the complete and udder non-sense you spewed out on that thread....I am dumber for reading it.

Chicago Bears football? Why is it a run-first and defensive scheme? Because we've won ONE fucking super bowl doing so? Yeah, great fucking scheme! Let's keep doing that! Forget the fact that the MOST DOMINANT teams this DECADE have been completely offensive based. Best teams of the last 20 years: Cowboys, Packers, Colts, Patriots, Steelers. What do they ALL have in common? A GOOD FUCKING OFFENSE!!!

Best teams in NFL last year: Saints, Packers, Colts, Cardinals, Jets, Vikings. Other then the Jets (and that's because they don't have a good QB) they all PASS FIRST!!! Yes, let's play "chicago bears football" and run run run! That's the ticket to the Super Bowl!!!

Orton trade is bad? Are you on crack?!?! Who would you rather have as your starting QB: Orton or Cutler? We SAW what Orton can do. And the NFL SAW what Cutler can do if in the right OFFENSIVE SCHEME! Cutler was a PRO BOWL QB!!!

Do I like what I see in the Bears, and their chances this year? No. But Oprah, Ditka, and "Chicago Bears Football" IS NOT THE ANSWER!

We gave up so many picks! but those picks would have probably been busts anyways knowing jerry angelo picked them.

The McCaskey's have a shit load of money. Al Davis has a shit load of money. How has that translated into a winning NFL team lately? So let me ask you: What the fuck does Oprah know about running an NFL organization that makes HER qualified?

Seriously. The fact that you think Oprah purchasing the Bears moves the team in the right direction makes my brain hurt.

What's the right way? In my opinion, bringing in a GM and head coach that think offense first and build their team AROUND Cutler.

Top teams in the NFL: Cowboys, Packers, Vikings, Saints, Colts, Patriots, Jets, Chargers. With the Jets being the exception to the rule, what do these teams have in common? They can spread the ball offensively and have a PRO BOWL QB! (Cutler is a PRO BOWL QB).

But I agree with you.....We should bring in Oprah and continue to play "Bears Football."

That's the team problem, and the issue that needs to be solved. Not fucking bringing in Oprah or Ditka to run the team. We just need a competent GM.

That sounds good. I just said Oprah because she makes 375 million a year, plus she loves the bears.

So you want Oprah to be a GM because she makes $375 mill per year? Saying Oprah is the answer to the Bears problems is just silly. Pure and simple.

And if my suggestion sounds good, what about Bears football? Offense first is the total opposite of such an idea.
