Hanie likely #2 on depth chart

CHICAGO -- Earlier this offseason Bears' offensive coordinator Mike Martz sounded open to bringing in another veteran quarterback to provide depth and experience behind incumbent starter Jay Cutler.

But with four weeks of organized team activities now in the books, the Bears appear content to open training camp with Caleb Hanie as the No. 2 quarterback after the former undrafted free agent finished up the offseason program on a high note, according to multiple team sources.

Hanie, who served as Cutler's primary backup in 2009, has attempted only seven passes in three career games. Rookie sixth-round draft pick Dan LeFevour is the only other quarterback currently on the roster after the Bears released Brett Basanez on May 19.

In the past, durability has never been an issue for Cutler, who's started 53 consecutive games.

Former St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger, rumored to be an option for the Bears, agreed to a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.
