GT - Going for the sweep in Philly.

Postby RetardRon on Apr 20th, 2011, 8:51 am

Philadelphia - After roughing up Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay last night, the Brewers take on another pitcher with one of those trophies on his mantel when Philly sends lefty Cliff Lee to the mound.

The Brewers counter with left-hander Chris Narveson as they try for their first-ever sweep here. This is the Brewers starting lineup:

2B Rickie Weeks
CF Carlos Gomez
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
3B Casey McGehee
SS Yuniesky Betancourt
RF Erick Almonte
C Jonathan Lucroy
LHP Chris Narveson
Accomplishments:
2010 - NFL Pick'em regular season & playoff champion
2011 - BC Dynasty Baseball league regular season champion

Words of Wisdom:
(1) You can only speak in absolutes if your name begins with "Fan." (2)Strikeouts are not of any importance for hitters; however, high K's for a pitcher are.

I'm not even watching the game. The sweep is already in the bag.

Interesting notes.

1 - A robot will throw out the first pitch today.

2 - Nieves seems to be paired with Narv.

3 - Ryan Braun has reached base safely in each of the team's first 17 games. It's the longest streak by a Brewer since Jeromy Burnitz also reached 17 straight in 1997. The club record is 23 by Robin Yount (1983).
