Was killing time before the Brewers game today, and stopped on the soccer game after I saw how Solo got screwed on the PK. Then the additional missed call giving Brazil the lead in extra time. Watching how the US got back into it (seemingly thanks to the fake injury extra time, funny stuff there, bite you in the ass) and win it, was kinda cool.

But this doesnt mean Im a fan. lol

Should have lost. Brazil gave the US a gift goal in the beginning and Soto didn't really get screwed. That person was offside and they called it. Funny soccer fans constantly complain about no calls then they get ruined when a clear offside is called.

The call was on Solo, not the player coming off the line. So it was an awful call. Second, they missed an offsides on Brazil in the extra time that should have been called, but was a goal instead. So both Brazil goals were a gift also.

Im anything but a soccer fan, as I stated in my OP, and Betroit will tell you this also. But reading the rules as they showed them during the game, they had bad bad calls against them, and still somehow won. Brazil was pulling some bush league shit late. Burned themselves ultimately'

Funny, but ESPN (and everybody else that I've read from) disagrees with you on both of these calls.

Shortly following the post-match news conferences, soccer's often bumbling governing body, FIFA, said it was because Solo went forward before the ball was struck. Replays didn't really support the argument. And, of course, Marta took advantage of the second opportunity.

So Im going to go with, yeah, I know what happened, and realize it wasnt Geovany Soto that got the legit PK save.

And the article I posted stated that later Fifa stated the call was on Hope Solo

France on Wednesday. I think we can beat France by 2 goals honestly but I expect a close game with the U.S. pulling out with a 1-0 victory.

the refs never specified who the call was on, nerman. solo kept asking if it was on her and arguing and thats how she got the yellow card. not to mention marta dove to get the call in the first place for the PK, and the red card on buehler was bullshit. and then the non-offsides call on the marta goal to start extra time. yeah, brazil got what they deserved by losing in PK's. its obvious "nerman" doesnt watch soccer. ever. but thats fine.

Hey! I never watch soccer, and I was able to pick up on the rules pretty quick. It helps that Hope Solo is pretty nice on the eyes.
