Blackhawks 2011-12 Season Thread

Postby cubbiefan009 on Oct 3rd, 2011, 3:15 pm

Season opener Friday night @ Dallas!!!!!

Home opener Saturday night vs. Dallas.

I'm pumped for this season, and will be even more pumped if the NBA doesn't solve their problems fairly soon.

ESPN giving some love.

Week 1 Power Rankings:

6: Some unanswered questions about the Hawks remain, such as defensive depth and Patrick Kane's move to center, but look for a big bounce-back season from Duncan Keith and the rest of the 2009-10 champs.

Trading Campbell really opened up our team salary situation. We are deeper on the 3rd and 4th lines. I like our chances against just about anyone.

Sucks Stalberg and Ben Smith got hurt in that pre-season game. They are both going to miss some time.

Nice comeback W tonight over Buff, Ladd, and the rest of the Winnipeg Jets!

Hoss and Kaner big games, and Ray Emery got his first start. Rough beginning, but finished solid.

Too small of a sample size and doesn't factor in slumps and/or hot streaks. This table is based of if we "consistently" played like this for the remaining 77 games. Not going to happen, but its probably going to be average out to be around those numbers I'm sure.

Also, table jacker! Haha!

Table jacker? wtf? I maximized the usage of tables, even dating back to the previous board, don't you remember my GTs? If anything you stole it from me.

And yes I know, small sample size. Like if we won the first game I could say we are on pace to win 82 games! Not going to happen and everyone understands that.

I really like this years team. Reminds me of 2 years ago. Getting production from all 4 lines as opposed to getting production from only 2 last year.

Looking forward to seeing how this season plays out.

Me too Stache....going into last year we knew it was going to be tough with all the cap issues, SC hangover, etc.

I was glad we made it to the playoffs, and I really liked our chances IF we could have beaten the Funucks.

I'm really excited this year, as I think we still got a good core and we got some grit which we lacked last year.

I can't remember...you've been gone for such a long time. I always thought it was Sedgy who started the table crazy. My bad. We both are the Table Wizards! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

GO HAWKS!

The core is fantastic and will keep us in contention every year as long as Bowman continues to put quality players along side them. I really loved the off-season additions. Just about every guy he brought in served a purpose and a role to fill.

Most of the core is locked up long term too (Kane, Hossa, Toews, Keith, Sharp, Seabrook, Hammer, Crawford). Only guy that needs a deal is Bolland. And as evidenced, the Blackhawks are a much better team when Bolland plays. Cant afford to lose him.

How about that win last night in Colorado? A team that was off to a crazy hot start, we went in there and got a W! Looking really good right now, got Colorado again tomorrow at home. I'm really excited for this season, more excited because I don't have to split Bulls/Hawks time. It's all Hawks now.
