Bowl SelectionsOSU! OSU! OSU! Fuck Alabama, they had their chance already. I do not want to see LSU beat Alabama again. Should be interesting to see how it turns out tonight, but I fully expect LSU/Bama. Why did OSU have to lose to I-State? Fuckers.
Re: Bowl SelectionsI'm neutral on it. Think Alabama is the 2nd (possibly even 1st) best team in the country, so in that case I want to see them in the championship game. Also think that, taking the team's names out of the equation, Alabama has a more impressive resume this year, so again want to see them in the championship game.
But like you said, they already had their chance and lost against LSU, and at home no less. Might have been different had it been at LSU, but because of that, want to see Oklahoma State. Plus, I'm very interested to see Oklahoma State's offense go against LSU's defense. So basically, I'm not going to be too upset either way, but I think it should be Alabama. 2009 BrewersCubs.com Best Poster of the Year!
Re: Bowl SelectionsPurists will say that you probably need to win your damn conference to play in the championship game.
And personally, I think OK State has a better resume...beat 6 ranked opponents I think to Alabama's 2. The only glaring difference is their losses, OK State in double OT to ISU vs. Alabama at home in OT to LSU. GCY
Re: Bowl SelectionsAnd OK State had everything go wrong against ISU...they lost their basketball coach and staff hours prior to a plane crash, was going to postpone the ISU game. Plus, they got fucked on a FG kick that looked good but called no good.

Re: Bowl Selections
It all depends on if you go by rankings at the time of the game, or final. At the time of the game, Bama played 5 ranked teams, won 4. OSU played and won 4. Going by last weeks BCS rankings, Bama played 3 and won 2 (Arkansas and at Penn State). OSU played and won 4 (Oklahoma, Kansas State, Baylor, and Texas), but Texas will most likely drop out of the rankings this week. Also, if Texas does, then all 3 of OSU's wins were at home. And should be noted that Oklahoma was not even close to playing like a ranked team when they played, having lost 2 of their best playmakers on offense. 2009 BrewersCubs.com Best Poster of the Year!
Re: Bowl Selections
Eh, yes it was a tragedy, but I really don't know that college football players are going to be too distracted that the women's basketball coach (that they've probably never met) at their university was killed in a plane crash the day before. And I honestly thought the FG was wide. If you are strictly looking at resumes, I've heard two schools of thoughts. One, who had more impressive wins? Or two, which loss was to a better team? Looking at wins, I'd say it is close, but I would give a bit of an edge to Bama based on Oklahoma being too hurt, and all OSU's wins at home. Looking at losses, Bama clearly has it losing to LSU. 2009 BrewersCubs.com Best Poster of the Year!
Re: Bowl SelectionsNo matter who is in the championship game, if they beat LSU it will be very interesting to see what the voters do. Depending on how the game goes, could definitely see lots of voters still putting LSU as #1.

Re: Bowl SelectionsI guess we know what to expect if LSU-Bama meet...3 hours of tedium.
Even better question is what happens to MSU? Could Michigan take their spot in the Sugar Bowl? That's kinda fucked up. GCY
Re: Bowl SelectionsI'm just laughing at Boise State and Houston...easiest schedules ever and couldn't get it done. Guess they need to water it down even more.

Re: Bowl Selections
I think a BCS bowl definitely takes Michigan over Michigan State. All about money, and with Michigan being in a long drought for them and their huge fan base, bowls would love to get them. 2009 BrewersCubs.com Best Poster of the Year!
Re: Bowl Selections
Re: Bowl SelectionsWho cares? As long as there isn't a playoff, why should we be forced to engage in these ridiculous discussions? It's embarrassing.
Re: Bowl SelectionsNational Championship is set: LSU vs. Alabama
Re: Bowl SelectionsBCS is so fucking shitty. All about money.
#13 Michigan vs. #11 Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl, both at large bids. Meanwhile, #6 Arkansas, #7 Boise St., and #8 Kansas St. Don't get a BCS bowl but are ranked higher??? LOL
Re: Bowl SelectionsI'd bet all the money on the world on the team that plays MSU to cover whatever spread it is. Can't be big enough, those bitches won't show up for their bowl game for the second consecutive year.
Dantonio is such a bitch. And his heart sucks. And he sucks at coaching. Why didn't they try to score at the end of the first half? They had more than enough time and were completely gashing us. Then he puts on a fucking block punt there? This team absolutely deserves every bit of bad fortune they've gotten over the last two seasons.
Re: Bowl Selections
What are you complaining about????? There's a COMBINED 1 win against a team currently in the BCS Top 25, Michigan beat Nebraska. 2009 BrewersCubs.com Best Poster of the Year!
Re: Bowl SelectionsNice that they only decided to ruin 2 of the BCS bowls though, by having the 4 horrible teams all play each other. Clemson, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Michigan are all jokes to be in the BCS.

Re: Bowl SelectionsArkansas couldnt be in a BCS Bowl due to the fact that the SEC owns the NC game. So that part cant be argued.
As for Michigan, it was predicted for awhile they would get a BCS Bowl due to the length of time its been since they have been in one, and how heavily they are followed. Va Tech? Fuck that. Shoulda been KSU like I seen projected.
